A Trip to Carrefour

Carrefour is the equivalent of Target for us in Shanghai. It's a French-run company with locations everywhere (just like Target). We make our way there by bus about once a week. It's an ordeal that takes us an entire evening. Here's a peek into one of the trips.

This is the meat section of Carrefour - a bit different than the States.

The entrance to Carrefour. Chinese New Year decorations are everywhere. It's the year of the pig!

This is the biggest bowl of rice I have ever seen.

Closing the deal.

The steep drop to the parking lot. The metal conveyor belt is magnetized, so that the cart sticks to it.

I end up carrying the heavy bag home. I don't mind this - you can see that I'm perfectly happy with this job.
