This weekend we traveled to Puxi to pick up some clothes from the clothing market. It's unbelievable! You just walk in, point to material and they make whatever you want - and it's cheap. So far I've gotten about four shirts and three pairs of pants made. I was disappointed to find out that parachute pants are out of the question. Bummer. We felt daring and took the ferry across the Huangpu river. This is the river that separates the city of Shanghai into two halves - Puxi (pronounce "Poo-she") and Pudong (which is where we live). We got some strange looks, but that's nothing new for us.
